Four of us enter for the callback. Instead of being surrounded by shirtless swimmers I’m next to three other martial artists. The guy next to me is in a tank top and covered in muscles, the second guy looks set to take anyone to the ground for some jiu-jitsu, and the third guy was moments ago touching the ceiling with his toes while we were waiting in the hallway. I’m in a room with three handsome, long-haired, muscular dudes and they all take their shirts off and one asks if he can take his pants off and then they all started doing push-ups on the floor around me, all three of them, and my only regret is I didn’t ask the guy with the video camera to take a picture. One little trip to San Francisco and this happens.
Enjoy Full House fans!
If the 86th Academy Awards taught us anything, it’s that versatility is king. Both Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto transformed themselves for their Oscar winning performances outshining other actors who didn’t transform themselves as much.

Ten years ago marked the beginning of the Philadelphia-based comedy improv troupe, Rare Bird Show. On November 15th, at the 9th annual Philadelphia Improv Festival; Alexis Simpson, Matt Holmes and I had our final show, a reunion and retirement show all wrapped into one. With two of the three of us now living in Los Angeles and all of us having shifted our energy into a multitude of new projects, we decided to take a final curtain call to celebrate and honor our run together instead of one day realizing it’s been a few years since we’ve done a show.
As a gift to my teammates and to capture a snippet of the tremendous and rapid growth of the comedy improv scene in Philadelphia over these past ten years, my film group Reel 9 Productions, helmed by the ever-talented Erin Davis, is producing a documentary on Rare Bird Show. (more…)
Directed by the talented Jody Lauren Miller (@JMLdirect for you twitter users) and produced by Erin Davis and Reel 9 Productions, I took one for the team in our bid for the big million dollar prize.

I love Halloween, and I was lucky enough to spend four years as Theatrical Director of one of the finest Haunted Attractions out there, Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary. If you find yourself in Philadelphia, check it out. Well, I moved to LA and thought my days working as a Zombie were over.
(Hanging back stage with Britt Griffith of Ghost Hunters in 2011….)
Check out the commercial I’m in:
People have seen it in LA, Philly and somewhere in Jersey.
Let me know if you catch it somewhere else as well.
Reel 9 Productions most recent project.
“The Crack” delivers beautifully crafted images that compel cultural, social, and spiritual reflection all while delivering unexpectedly delightful and shameless moments of physical comedy. This short film explores the pivotal shift in the lives of Helen and Roger, two extremely ordinary citizens, who have taken a day to themselves at the beach. Content to soak in the sun and natural beauty, the ocean delivers an unexpected invitation to a world and life beyond the edge of their known reality.
Like a fault-line splitting under the immense pressure of shifting geological plates, The Crack will shatter your artistic sense of reason and tickle your good, whimsical taste. A rift in time? A portal through space? What hides amongst the froth of the waves striking hard on sea side rocks?
We shot the 8 minute short over two weekends in August, 2013.
